Resumo: O autor, um jornalista venezuelano, curioso de sua origem possivelmente judaica, participou de um Curso sobre o Judaismo, ou seja, sobre o Pensamento Judeu, em Caracas, Venezuela. Neste artigo, ele partilha, alem dos motivos que o levaram ao Curso, as suas descobertas e impressoes sobre a “complexidade do Judaismo”. E sistematiza suas impressoes em quatro pontos: 1. O pensamento judeu; 2. A evolucao historica do Judaismo; 3. E “religiao” ou “modo de ser”?; 4. Fidelidade, a quem? A seguir, pergunta e responde: “O que queria Deus? – O povo judeu”. Por fim, antes das observacoes conclusivas, discute a “defesa da propriedade”, em relacao a Terra Prometida. Abstract: The author is a journalist from Venezuela inquiring about his Jewish origin as he was participating in a course about Judaism and concomitantly trying to understand Jewish Thought in the milieu of Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. In this article he explains the reason for this course being offered in that country and he shows forth the tenets of Judaism and its religious doctrines and systematic. In the conclusion an inserted brief answers to the defense of the right to private property in relation to the Promised Land.
