Resumo

In this paper, we present a reflection on the experience in the Amazon region linking it to the discussion process of the Federal Government project called “Madeira Complex”. On two occasions, before implantation and during implantation, this project is part of a major structural works projects in South America, called “Initiative for the Integration of Regional Infrastructure (IIRSA)” (MORET; FERREIRA, 2005). This proposal is resultant of journeys through the waters of Madeira River from 2007 to 2012, in partnership with Madeira Vivo Institute (IMV), of the city of Porto Velho. From these experiments resulted the interviews, systematization of recorded and unrecorded conversations derived from meetings with leaders at the Madeira riverside, among them: the conversation we had with the indigenous people Parintintin in the boat anchored in the Humaita-AM harbor, experiences with cultural worlds in the Amazon, political, social, identity, personal and collective reassurance. The material combined with the experience of places was used to support our reflection on environmental, cultural and social disasters, from the life experience of the people themselves which form the Amazon area, context in which we include ourselves
