Autores ResumoA few winters ago, my mum called me to enquire whether I thought my sister had an adequate winter coat. I was in my mid-thirties at the time, and my sister was just a couple of years younger. We'd left home more than a decade before. I was amused, and a little dismissive, but some part of me was unsurprised, even (shameful to admit) pleased. Of course she would ask me about my sister's coat. Never mind that she, my sister, has a job, a relationship, a mortgage, friends—what I guess we call an adult life. I'm the big sister. She's the little one. Of course my mother would ask me.
