ResumoThis work aims to comprehend the structuring processes in mediatic narratives, specifically in the series How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM), and what are the ways that they are understood by the audience. The text has the theorical support in Barthes’s comprehension about the connotation processes in mythical constructions of double articulations and Fontanille’s analysis proposal on semiotic relevance levels. As analysis operation, (i) key scenes were selected and interpreted by the semiotic concepts, explaining the process of the mythical meaning constructions; (ii) these scenes were presented to the series fans in order to identify the ways of appropriation and the interactions that came out of the relations between their lives’ experiences and the fictional story. Briefly: it describes the re-signification of the myths during the history line and its reconfiguration by the communication technologies.Keywords: mythological narrative, TV series, semiotics, communication.
