Comportamiento de la enfermedad pulmonar obstructiva crónica en el municipio de Caimanera

ResumoA descriptive investigation was carried out in the Ramon Lopez Pena University Polyclinic of Caimanera, on the behavior of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease during the years 2007-2011. The universe was studied, 49 patients. The information was obtained from the records in the clinics and the Department of Health Statistics of this institution and the following variables were studied: occupation, pattern of spirometry, smoking, age, sex and incidence of morbidity. Of the patients that were studied, a higher percentage was obtained in the employed, with a higher incidence in the moderate obstructive spirometric pattern, as a risk factor triggering: smoking. The disease predominated in women aged 50 years and had a higher incidence in 2011.
