ResumoThis article aims to discuss the role of literary reading within the school environment as a way of understanding themselves and the world. Discussions proposed here take in to consideration the National Curricular Guidelines (2006), which bring an approach that can significantly provide an effective work with literary texts in the classroom guiding the formation and development of reading competence.
