Resumo

The purpose of this paper was to examine the possibility to reduce the illegal bicycle parking by psychological strategy based on previous research. For this purpose, we made up leaflets to provide information about parking area for bicycles and distributed them to bicycle users around Toritsu-daigaku station on the Tokyu Toyoko line. In addition, as another psychological strategy, we also conducted persuasive communication. As a result, it was shown that the illegal bicycle parking was reduced by 20~30 %. Also, 50~60 % of the reduction were observed after these psychological strategies were implemented. Furthermore, we found that the number of users of all parking lots for temporal uses increased.
