Resumo

The concept of soundscape has undergone numerous shifts since the writings of Murray Schafer in the 1970s.This brief text proposes to analyze the implications of this concept, unfolded into a reflection on the perception of urban sounds, the relations between sound and memory (archives and intangible heritage) and, finally, the aestheticization of the listening experience, exemplified in the growing importance of sound within museums, whether by the museification of the soundscape or by the performance of the so-called sound artists.
