O caminho para a morte: Deportação dos judeus de Berlim para o gueto de Litzmannstadt (1941)

ResumoBerlim era a capital do Terceiro Reich (1933-1945) e possuia a maior e mais vibrante comunidade judaica do pais. Dos cento e sessenta mil judeus que ali residiam quando Hitler se tornou chanceler, apenas metade vivia na capital no inicio da guerra, em 1939. Em outubro de 1941, ocorreu a primeira deportacao de Berlim. O destino era o gueto de Litzmannstadt, como foi renomeada pelos nazistas a cidade de Łodź na Polonia. O presente artigo visa a refletir sobre os problemas dessa primeira deportacao dos judeus berlinenses e apresenta o destino desses judeus apos a chegada ao gueto. The Road to Death: Deportations of the Jews from Berlin to the Litzmannstadt Ghetto (1941) - Abstract: Berlin was the capital of the Third Reich (1933-1945) and had the biggest and more vibrant Jewish community of the country. Of the one hundred and sixty thousand Jews who lived there when Hitler became Chancellor in 1933, only half lived in the capital at the beginning of the war, in 1939. In October 1941, the first deportation from Berlin occurred. The destiny was the ghetto of Litzmannstadt, how was renamed by the Nazis the city of Łodź in Poland. The present article aims to reflect on the problems of this first deportation of the Berliner Jews and presents the destiny of these Jews after the arrival in the ghetto.
