ResumoTur GENUS Rhapis is one of a group of six genera in the subfamily Coryphoideae centered in the southeastern.United States (Rhapidophyllum) and southeastern Asia (Liberbaileya, Maxburretia, Trachycarpus, Rhapis) with a Mediterranean outlier (Chamaerops).These genera are notable for complete apocarpy coupled with an apparently specialized inflorescence (relative to the subfamily as a whole), polygamy or dioecism, * This study was undertaken at the request of and in collaboration with Drs.P.
