Resumo

This article reconstructs the links established between local media, local government and the relaunch of political sociability spheres in the former party of General Sarmiento, located northwest of Buenos Aires, during 1982 and 1983. In 1982 a thaw in political life, particularly driven by different and relevant political actors with widespread political activity in General Sarmiento before and during Argentina’s last dictatorship can be observed. By 1983 the thaw was accentuated and the local press began to publish various advertisements, proclamations and resolutions of political parties, which experienced a sudden resurgence. In particular, this article analyses the newspaper Sintesis , one of the main media of the town. We will analyze the Cenas de Sintesis in which a group of relevant experienced political actors were invited to discuss on national, provincial and municipal politics. Added to this first inquiry, this article also pretends to reflect the responses and impacts that caused the publication of these statements.
