ResumoReconcavo Basinis a Cretaceous rift-valley filled up by three types of sub-lacustrian fans: Gomo turbidites, Maracangalha fluxo-turbidites and Ilhas shallow fans. When the eastern deep trough was fulfilled the bottom of the lake was flattened and prograded by river dominated highly constructive delt as which reach the northern boundaries of Todos os Santos Bay (Pojuca deltas). Fluvial deposits of Sao Sebastiao Formation followed behind the deltas. Exploratory wells drilled within Todos os Santos Bay show in the rift-section a sequence of turbiditcs (Gomo and Maracangalha members) and canyon-fill deposits - Taquipe Formation, here formalized, upon which it comes Recent bay filling deposits. The Lower-Cretaceous deltaic and fluvial sediments are confined to the north, and they did not reach Todos os Santos Bay. Therefore, the bay itself can be considered as an downstream deepest part remainder of the rift-valley lake.
