ResumoThe Big Ten/Ivy League Traumatic Brain Injury Research Collaboration is a multi-institutional research effort supported by the Big Ten and Ivy League conference Presidents1–3 whose mission is to better understand the causes and effects of sport-related head injury and concussion. Established in 2012, the 22-insitution membership is an integrated group of clinicians and scientists working in partnership to study the effects of traumatic brain injury (TBI) in sports and to, ultimately, improve the health and wellness of student athletes. The flagship example of the TBI Collaboration’s vision to use science evidence to produce benefits for student-athlete well-being is the Ivy League–Big Ten Epidemiology of Concussion Study. The Concussion Study, operating in its fifth year of data collection, was implemented by the Ivy League Presidents and now has been joined by many of the Big Ten universities.
