In reply to John McDonald (letters September 24), I think he will find that many of the Pagan festivals are listed in the books he cites: Imbolc (Candlemass), Spring Equinox (Easter), Lughnassadh (Lammas), Samhain (All Hallows Eve) and Yule (Christmas) are all Pagan festivals that have been Christianised.
