ResumoSebum is secreted by a continuous holocrine process, which requires two to three weeks from cell division to final secretion. The authors present the mechanism of secretion of sebum, methods for measurement of the rate of secretion, factors that affect the rate of secretion, and the effect of secretion rates on acne. Also included is a section on the composition of sebum.
