An interview with comic book writer Jeff Parker

Jeff Parker began his comics career as an artist on issues of Wonder Woman and Malibu Comics’ Solitaire. As the industry receded in the ’90s, Jeff moved to Los Angeles and began working as a storyboard artist, first on the animated series The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot and then live-action commercials and music videos. During this time, he launched his first graphic novel, The Interman, and returned to full-time comics work as a writer, notably on the Marvel Adventures line of books. The next decade was filled with big action books from Marvel such as The Hulk and Thunderbolts, and launching new series' Agents of Atlas and X-Men: First Class. Parker migrated to DC to bring Batman ’66 to monthly comics, while revamping Flash Gordon and the King Features heroes for Dynamite. He also spearheaded the crossover Future Quest, an event series featuring the classic action heroes of Hanna-Barbera. Among his original creations are the thriller Underground with Steve Lieber, the dark humour paranormal series Mysterius the Unfathomable with Tom Fowler, and Portland-centric hipster mystery Bucko with Erika Moen. This interview explores his work and career in comics to date.
