"Las Cruces de la Reina Leonor": un proyecto eTwinning de intercambio lingüístico y cultural

espanol: Etwinning es una iniciativa de la Comision Europea que promueve la colaboracion entre centros escolares a traves del uso de las TICS. Los profesores se ponen en contacto con otros manejando herramientas TIC variadas, para cuyo uso habian sido entrenados previamente. Ademas, aprendieron a investigar en Internet y a referenciar. Este tipo de proyectos conduce a una mayor concienciacion de la propia identidad de los alumnos y a la comprension de la riqueza linguistica y cultural que existe mas alla de sus fronteras. A su vez, mejoran el interes y la capacidad de comunicacion en un idioma que no es el suyo docentes de otros paises, para crear asociaciones y proyectos internacionales. El proyecto �Las cruces de la reina Leonor� se llevo a cabo entre dos centros de Secundaria, uno en Gran Bretana y el otro en Espana. Leonor de Castilla, hija del rey Fernando III el Santo, se caso con Eduardo I de Inglaterra en 1254, y fue su pareja y reina de ese pais hasta su muerte en 1290. El objetivo del proyecto es que, a traves de un personaje historico que pertenece a su pasado comun, los alumnos se conocen y comunican, tanto en ingles como en espanol, mejorando sus habilidades linguisticas y ampliando sus conocimientos sobre el otro pais. Los profesores participantes disenaron el proyecto y se lo presentaron a las familias de los alumnos. Se uso un espacio virtual donde los alumnos pudieron realizar las actividades programadas EnglishEtwinning is an innitiative of the European Comission that fosters collaboration between schools through the use of TIC's. There, teachers look for other teachers to create partnerships and international projects. Queen Eleanor's Crosses project was carried out by two Secondary Schools, one in Britain and the other one in Spain. Eleanor of Castile, King Ferdinand III the Saint�s daughter, married Edward I of England in 1254, and was her partner and queen of that country until her death in 1290. The aim of the project is that, through a historical character that belongs to their common past, students get to know and communicate, using the English and Spanish languages, thus improving their linguistic abilities and enlarging their knowledge about the other country. The participant teachers designed the project, presenting it to the students� families. Some virtual space was applied for, where students could perform the programmed activities handling a variety of TIC tools, for the use of which they had been previously trained. Besides, they were taught how to do research on the Internet and write references. These types of projects lead to a higher level of awareness of students� own identity, and to the understanding of the cultural and linguistic richness that exists beyond their borders. They also improve the interest and ability to communicate in a language that is not their own
