ResumoHousing loans are the main drivers for the exponential growth of the Brazilian niche real estate agents since 2005. Since then, demand for real estate loans increased along with the average income in Brazil. Due to increased demand, the financial institutions providing housing credit are, roughly speaking, outsourcing process execution for housing financing, taking this work of agencies and redirecting to banking correspondents. The clearest case is that the financial institution responsible for over 70% of mortgage lending in Brazil, where no housing finance is done in the agencies, but by the correspondents.
