Resumo

Nusa Tenggara and Banda is the regions in Indonesia which has a high tectonic activity and thus susceptible to earthquake hazard. In this region, there are three active tectonic plates collide that is Indo-Australian, Eurasian and Pacific plate. Strain rates obtained from geodetic measurements will have a similar pattern with seismic activity from the earthquake catalog. So that, strain rates analysis can be used to estimating the earthquake recurrence parameters of an earthquake source. To determine the strain rates in the study area are using eartquakes catalog data and the deformation data from GPS measurements. Seismic moment release value calculated from focal mechanism catalog is 3,48 × 1024 Nm - 1,13 × 1026 Nm, while accumulated moment from geodetic is 3,07 × 1025 Nm - 1,64 × 1027 Nm. Comparison of seismic and geodetic moment rates showed a deficit less than 50% in some tectonic zones, indicating that in the region is highly potential for moderate to large earthquakes.
