In this study, previous records of the genus Bucanella Meek, 1871 species in Devonian beds from Paraná State are revised. Redescriptions are presented to the four species studied: Bucanella laticarinata Knod, 1908, 8ucanella dereimsi Knod, 1908, 8ucanella hapsideus (Clarke, 1913) and 8ucanella quadrilobata (Salte r, 1856). To the last two, new combinations are proposed. 8. quadrilobata is recorded for the first time in the Ponta Grossa Formation. The status of Plectonotus and 8ucanella is discussed. Considerations about the affinities of gastropod taxocoenoses from the Ponta Grossa Formation are presented.
