Resumo

In this paper we present the findings of our survey that deals with the effects of a program to promote robotics in education in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The state sponsors participating schools with LEGO® NXT/EV3 robot sets and the entry fee for the robotics contest FIRST® LEGO® League. In return, participating schools have to partake in the contest and develop a sustainable concept for the implementation of robotics in education. We briefly describe the program as well as the contest and, afterwards, present the research results followed by a discussion of the findings, showing that this type of promotion program is an effective tool to bring robotics into the classroom.
