Este artigo tem por objetivo realizar um paralelo entre concepções do Ocidente e do Oriente a respeito de noções relativas à sexualidade, à relação entre os sexos e o feminino. Para isso, elegemos o contexto da Baixa Idade Média, privilegiando duas fontes do século XV: a obra do muçulmano Muhammad al-Nafzawi, Os Campos Perfumados, e o Leal Conselheiro, do rei português D. Duarte - ambas de um contexto mediterrânico, mas distinto culturalmente nesse período. A primeira obra foi escrita para um sultão tunisiano, já a segunda trata-se de um escrito feito por um monarca cristão ibérico para seus súditos nobres. Desse modo, procuramos perceber como dois textos escritos por homens e para homens acabaram por definir duas concepções que revelam noções identitárias do Ocidente e do Oriente com relação à dimensão da sexualidade. Identity Dialogue on Medieval Sexuality Between the East and the West – 14th and 15th Centuries The purpose of this article is to draw a parallel between Western and Eastern conceptions regarding notions related to sexuality, the relationship between the sexes and the feminine. For this, we chose the context of the Late Middle Ages, focusing on two sources of the 15tth century: the work of Muhammad al-Nafzawi, The Perfumed Garden and the Leal Conselheiro, of the Portuguese king D. Duarte (1391-1438)- both from a Mediterranean context, but culturally distinct in this period. The first work was written for a Tunisian sultan, while the second is a writing made by an Iberian Christian monarch for his noble subjects. In this way, we try to understand how two texts written by men and for men ended up defining two conceptions that reveal identity notions of the West and the East in relation to the dimension of sexuality.
