Perfil de intoxicação dos agricultores por agrotóxicos em Alagoas

RESUMO: No Brasil, o consumo de agrotóxicos cresceu bastante nas últimas décadas, transformando o país em um dos líderes mundiais. O principal meio de absorção do agrotóxico no ser humano e através da pele seja pela falta de proteção ou uso incorreto do equipamento de proteção individual. Os agricultores visam aumento da produtividade, deixando a saúde em segundo plano, em alguns casos por falta de conhecimento. Assim esse trabalho teve como objetivo, verificar os agrotóxicos notificados que causam intoxicação no Estado de Alagoas, comparando com os agrotóxicos mais utilizados no Brasil. Foi realizado um estudo retrospectivo através de dados secundários compostos de informações disponíveis nos registros da Diretoria de Vigilância em Saúde Ambiental da Secretaria de Saúde de Alagoas (DIVISAM/AL), e do Sistema de Informações de Agravos de Notificação (SINAN). As variáveis coletadas foram: idade, sexo do indivíduo, município, escolaridade, local da exposição, os agrotóxicos citados nos registros de notificações. No período do estudo, foram verificadas 248 notificações pelo uso de agrotóxicos no estado de Alagoas, que em sua maioria foi representado pelos agrotóxicos agrícolas (74,6%). Também foi verificado que a exposição ocorre durante a pulverização principalmente à classe dos herbicidas, e que contaminação ocorre principalmente no ambiente de trabalho. Os resultados encontrados evidenciam a necessidade de novas práticas por parte dos agricultores, gestores e da indústria do fumo. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Agrotóxicos, Fumo, Alagoas.ABSTRACT: In Brazil, the consumption of agrochemicals has grown considerably in recent decades, making the country one of the world leaders. The main means of absorption of the pesticide in humans and through the skin is the lack of protection or incorrect use of personal protective equipment. Farmers aim to increase productivity, leaving health in the background, in some cases because of lack of knowledge. Thus, this study aimed to verify the reported pesticides that cause intoxication in the State of Alagoas, comparing with the most commonly used agrochemicals in Brazil. A retrospective study was carried out through secondary data composed of information available in the records of the Directorate of Surveillance in Environmental Health of the Alagoas Health Department (DIVISAM/AL) and of the Notification of Injury Information System (SINAN). The variables collected were: age, sex of the individual, municipality, schooling, place of exposure, pesticides cited in the records of notifications. During the study period, 248 notifications were reported for the use of agrochemicals in the State of Alagoas, which was represented by agricultural pesticides (74.6%). It has also been found that exposure occurs during spraying mainly to the class of herbicides, and that contamination occurs mainly in the working environment. The results found evidence the need for new practices by farmers, managers and the tobacco industry. KEYWORDS: Agrochemicals, Smoke, Alagoas.
