ResumoThis paper has in its main purpose to introduce the context of information and communications technology (ICT) associated to family farming, based on the analysis of the scientific publications with the involvement of professor Ricardo Cesar Goncalves Sant’Ana, Ph.D., scientific researcher. The methodology has been built upon a theoretical study, with matters of quality, through a literature review and survey articles about the ICT in family farming, by means of an exploratory research in the Ricardo’s Curriculum Lattes. The result was based on bibliography revision and the categorization about the given perspective to the topic. Was observed that the ICT acts as a bridge between the family farmer and the access to information, emphasizing the importance to create the public policy of information that can be softened inequality in access to information. Moreover, soften it follows that a contribution is necessary of various actors in society, to minimize the barriers to access an information in the rural property since actions proposed by the government, software development company, and educational institution through extension projects.
