Resumo

Static strands response with asymmetric surface damage is studied.A nonlinear beam-based model is proposed to assess damaged strand response.Test data and 3D FE simulations validate the proposed nonlinear beam-based model.The nonlinear-based model is a robust and computationally cheap tool.
