RESUMO Tendo como base as nocoes de cultura material escolar e entendendo as multiplas possibilidades de leitura que podem ser feitas a partir de um utensilio, o objetivo deste trabalho e sistematizar informacoes e iniciar uma reflexao que toma por objeto a Fabrica de Moveis CIMO S.A., fundada por Willy Jung e Jorge Zipperer, na decada de 1910, em Sao Bento do Sul, SC. Um conjunto de fontes que nos ajudou a entender acerca da importância desses moveis e composto por documentos encontrados no Arquivo Publico do Estado de Santa Catarina, que revelou relacoes do Estado com essa fabrica. As reflexoes realizadas neste sao resultados de atividades do projeto de pesquisa “OBJETOS DA ESCOLA: Cultura Material da Escola Graduada (1874- 1950) – 2a edicao (CNPq/FAPESC/UDESC)”. MOVEIS CIMO S.A: INITIAL NOTES ON CATARINENSE’S FURNITURE IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS ABSTRACT Based on the notions of material culture of the school and understanding the many ways of reading that can be made from an object, the objective of this work is to systematize information and initiate a reflection that takes as its object the “Fabrica de Moveis CIMO S.A.”, founded by Willy Jung and George Zipperer, in the 1910s, in Sao Bento do Sul, SC (Brazil). A set of sources that helped us understand the importance of these pieces of furniture are composed by documents found in the Public Archives of the State of Santa Catarina, which revealed relations of the State with this factory. Our reflections on this are the result of activities of the research project “ “OBJETOS DA ESCOLA: Cultura Material da Escola Graduada (1874-1950) – 2a edicao (CNPq/FAPESC/UDESC)”.
