ResumoA new antibiotic, okicenone was isolated from the culture broth of Streptomyces sp. KO-3599. The antibiotic possesses cytocidal activity against mammalian tumor cells in vitro at concentrations of 0.53-11.0μg/ml whereas the antibiotic showed no antimicrobial activities against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, fungi or yeast at a concentration of 1, 000μg/ml.
