Lubricants and Their Additives

A performance study of the Extra Diesel lubricant marketed and produced by Cubalub and used in the Yuchai engines of the School Transport Company of Pinar del Rio was carried out. The methodology used, procedures were established for the correct extraction of the samples, the laboratory tests necessary, viscosity, content of water, number basic, flash point, to obtain a clear criterion of the degree of degradation of the fuel and the necessary periodicity of sampling were determined. The validation of the selected parameters taking into account the condemnatory values set for them, their relationship with the actual health of the lubricant and its degree of contamination showed that at the time of the oil change of oil (8 000 km) still with the necessary requirements for its exploitation.
