ResumoThe present work proposes a method to analyze electric energy consumption in manufacturing processes in order to identify potential of reducing this consumption. Computational discrete event modeling/simulation is used as a tool for this analysis, complemented by the use of optimization software, where different scenarios can be explored in order to minimize electricity consumption. A differential of this method is the evaluation of possible solutions as function of indicators in economic, social and environmental aspects, also known as the triple bottom line, so that the optimal solutions to be adopted contribute to make the manufacturing process more sustainable.
