ResumoThe rheological performance of a cement paste containing Coconut Fibres was analysed. Coconut fibres are by-products from agroindustry; they reinforce cement paste and mortars and contribute to increase sustainability of the cement products. In this research, a process to include such fibres was developed. The analysis of rheological parameters is considered as a relevant indicator to identify changes in the mechanical performance in fresh stages due to the addition of different materials to the mixture. The coconut fibres were added in different percentages (1 wt%, 2.5% and 5 wt%) and three Aspect Ratios (0.714, 7.143 and 14.286), to examine the effect of a monodisperse addition. It was observed that the compressive strength was increased and the rheological behaviour was improved.
