ResumoPopulation structure aspets of bivalve Donax striatus in Futuro Beach were analyzed within a quali-quantitative survey of the its intertidal benthic macrofauna. Samples were taken monthly from March, 1995 through February, 1996, with a handle PVC cylindrical corer (O=20cm e h=30 cm). A growth analysis of studied population was conducted by means of length-based methods (ELEFAN I Program). Three class intervals was tasted, i.e., 2.0, 4.0 and 6.0 mm and a stabilization of the optimal values of populations parameters was obnserved at 6.0 mm class intervals (Rn=0.910). The von Beetalanffy parameters for the studied population were the following: L∞=25.10, K = 1.16.yr. -1 and t 0 =-0,028.yr. -1 . The mean life span was estimated as around 12 months. The predominance of 3-month old (<6.0 mm) juveniles is probably related to human recreation and touristic activities, that change the population patterns of intertidal organisms.
