Resumo

The presentation includes the geological, tectonic and geomorphological characterization, the hydrogeological model, the hydrochemistry and the boreholes of mineral aquifer of Amarante. The natural mineral water of Amarante is sulphurous and is captured by two artesian boreholes. The fault system of Tâmega river valley is the conducting channel and the Padronelo-Amarante fault is the trap that causes the emergencies of natural mineral water.
