Resumo

Leptogenys Roger, 1861 is one of the speciose genera in the subfamily Ponerinae. There were no previous records of any species of this genus from Pakistan, though many such species were reported from various parts of the world, including its neighbouring countries. In the current study, one species of this genus, L. hysterica Forel, 1900, is reported for the first time from Pakistan based on individuals of the worker caste. Description, differential diagnosis, morphometrics, and illustrations of the species are provided along with notes on its distribution. This study will provide a baseline for further exploration of this genus in Pakistan.
