ResumoThe article reports on the producer Tom Dowd. Dowd originally worked as a physicist on the atomic bomb before inventing the multitrack recording machine. He worked with many musicians including Derek and the Dominos, Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin and John Coltrane. Dowd applied several rules to his record production, one of which amounted to fixing every nuance of music until the song made you dance.
