ResumoThis article examines the BBC's experimentation with animation and radio during the 1930s and early 1940s. It explores how the BBC adapted animation into the sound medium of radio, through an emphasis on aesthetics and the exploitation of character. It also examines how the BBC adopted a transmedial storytelling approach which resulted in an expanded engagement with the world and characters developed by Disney.
