ResumoOne of the huge impacts of the human activities in nature is from the raw material withdrawal for manufacturing. The cement Portland production is responsible for 5-7% of the total global emissions of CO2 and therefore leading to the global warming. Thus, in the site constructions there is an intensive waste production, which cause environmental impact.Amid the alternative to overcome such problem, unfolds the possibility to investigate solutions regarding the cement Portland production, in order to reduce that negative impact. On that way, the present work had the aim to evaluate the red ceramic waste from roof tile from different sources, by analytic techniques such as Xray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, looking to verify the possibility to include such residue as raw material for cement Portland production, presenting a possibility of co processing to make up a alternative binder. The X ray diffraction results showed that all the residues analyzed presented silicon and two of them observed iron oxide as well. The X ray fluorescence results showed that all the residues presented silicon, aluminum and iron oxide which are some of the main compounds of the cement clinker. However, it was observed huge dispersion in the composition amid residues of distinct sources, allowing wonder that there is a possibility of use the studied residues to produce an alternative binder by a dosage that considers such composition.
