The following research methods and tools were used in the study: evaluation of physical development, fitness testing, athletic results recording and methods of statistical analysis. The analysis showed significant differences of somatic features and fitness results among individual athletes. Statistically significant relationships in pole vault occurred between the volume of the chest cavity during exhalation, the volume of the chest cavity during inhalation, the body weight and the length of the upper limb (0.68, 0.62, 0.49, and 0.48, respectively).
