This article aims to show the relevance of the “Placid Banks” Project, an open forum or debate network for all - PublicAdministrations, Universities, NGOs, entrepreneurs, students and professionals – directed to rescue the ecological and cultural valuesinvoked by the image of a river. It congregates all who agree with a symbolic proposal of creation of a great linear urban park aroundIpiranga Stream, establishing a connection between its wellspring, in the perimeter of the “Ipiranga Wellsprings State Park”, and itsestuary, in the Tamanduatei River, encompassing in this route the Independence Park and Ipiranga Quarter’s more important historicaland cultural sceneries.
