ResumoThree soil series namely Chambal, Chomu and Pali (two horizons, Ap and A from each series) were studied for K release kinetics using 0.3N NaTPB, 1M NH4Ac, 0.01M BaC12, 0.01M CaCl2 and 0.01M oxalic acid as extractants. Kinetics of K release was described by using first order, Elovich, parabolic diffusion and power function equations. Most of the soils and soil fractions followed parabolic diffusion equation indicating that K release is controlled by diffusion. Clay fraction of each soil was found to release more K. Ap and A horizons of each soil series followed similar type of release kinetics.
