Expulsion from the urban paradise: representations of the informal city in the movie Hechos consumados (1986)

ResumoespanolThe paper establishes the representations of urban typology known as “informal city” that the film Hechos consumados proposes (1986). A methodological design that relates city and mass media is used, from a mediational perspective, by Martin Serrano (2004). Certain categories are defined that allow the observation of this kind of urban order, which emerge from a previous theoretical analysis on the Latin American “informal city”. This is an interdisciplinary research that could be interesting to those who have the urban phenomenon as object of study, or to those who do it from the point of view of representations that the cinema constructs, as mediational practices. EnglishEste articulo establece las representaciones de la tipologia urbana conocida como “ciudad informal” que propone el filme Hechos consumados (1986). Se utiliza un diseno metodologico que pone en relacion a los medios masivos y la ciudad, desde la perspectiva mediacional que propone Martin Serrano (2004). Se han definido ciertas categorias que permiten la observacion de este tipo de ordenamiento urbano, el que emerge de una analisis teorico previo sobre la “ciudad informal” latinoamericana. Se trata de una investigacion interdisciplinar que puede ser de interes para aquellos que tienen al fenomeno urbano como objeto de estudio, o para aquellos que lo hacen desde el punto de vista de las representaciones que construye la cinematografia como una practica mediacional.
