ResumoTourism is an economic activity that is very sensitive to situational changes, such as exchange rate fluctuations and seasonal demand instabilities, which is why it is vulnerable to several types of crises, which may have negative effects on the destinations and organizations involved in the supply of products and services directly or indirectly involved with this activity. This vulnerability requires management focused on the protection, coping or mitigation of crises. The present study aims to map the issue of crisis management in tourism publications. This is a research of an exploratory and bibliographic nature, with the international publications of the periodicals: Tourism Management and Annals of Tourism Research and the national publications of the periodicals: Turismo em Análise, Turismo -Visão e Ação, Rosa dos Ventos -Turismo e Hospitalidade, RBTUR, Turismo Contemporâneo, Ecoturismo e Revista Eletrônica de Administração e Turismo, covering the period of 2010 to 2017.An approach of qualitative analysis of these publications was adopted, through content analysis, from the following categories: concepts used for the crisis; typology; description of its development process and proposals for prevention and combat. The results show that, in relation to tourism crisis management, the publications analyzed address issues related to climatic factors, attacks and hotel industry. This gap suggests the development of studies and thus contribute to a market lacking information.
