In this work, we have studied the relationship between the sentences atributed to Publilio Siro that were selected by André Rodrigues of Évora in three different florilegia (Coimbra, 1554; Lyon, 1557; and Coimbra, 1569). The aim is to establish to which extent they are original, their dependence and whether there is some kind of manipulation. Likewise, we have also dealt with how these sentences have been reused, being able to conclude that, in the elaboration and compilation of such florilegia, Siro’s sentences have been selected and organized by Rodrigues of Évora on subjective criteria and with an intention to manipulate them.
