Resumo

The present study discusses the problematic of the double to analyze the work "Secret Window, Secret Garden" (1992), by Stephen King.Therefore, we list Sigmund Freud's concept of "uncanny" to guide our analysis.King's work allows exploring this perspective, as it presents the Macabéa -Revista Eletrônica do Netlli | V.7., N.1.,JAN-JUN, 2018, p. 52-70.character Mort Rainey after a trauma from his divorce, creating a double called John Shooter, which represents all his repressions and claims the authorship of a work written by Mort.
