ResumoThis paper analyzes the visit made by Archbishop Francisco Aguiar y Seijas to the South of the Archdiocese of Mexico, that is, to the parishes located between Cuernavaca Valley and those in the jurisdiction of Tixtla, Iguala and Chilapa, between November 1687 and January 1688. This paper aims to show how the visit to the 19 parishes of the south opened up an ephemeral, sacred time, in which the prelate celebrated masses, processions, and confirmations, but the visit also created a space and time in which he attended several matters of government and justice, with the assistance of his entourage, as a kind of itinerant miter, both in the parishes that were the object of the visit and those that were not.
