Resumo

Japanese personal pronouns have been considered a difficult subject by foreigner apprentices for quite some time. So, this being the case, this article intends to contribute to elucidate this class of words. For that purpose, the essential approaches of theorists who have studied the personal pronouns are summarized, focusing on authors like Yamada Yoshio, Matsushita Daizaburô and Tokieda Motoki.
