Currently ‘heritage’ has several meanings and definitions, many of them still in development, while proposing a subdivision of this concept in different ‘heritage typologies’. Therefore, it is possible to discuss the (science of) health heritage presupposing a legacy that extends to a community that understands it as its own and values it. The personal and family information system that emerge as the object of study in this research, is inserted in the domains of health, medicine and their history, allowing to contribute to the expansion of studies in this ‘heritage typologies’. The main producer of this system, Fernando da Silva Correia (1893-1966), was the director of Instituto Superior de Higiene Doutor Ricardo Jorge between 1946 and 1961.
