Abstract The compounds Nb 0.62 Si 0.38 , Nb 0.64 Si 0.30 B 0.06 , Nb 0.64 Si 0.24 B 0.12 , Nb 0.64 Si 0.18 B 0.18 , and Nb 0.64 Si 0.14 B 0.22 belonging to the solid solution based on Nb 5 Si 3 in the Nb—Si—B system are characterized by synchrotron powder XRD and DFT calculations.
