Magnetism in coordination complexes

Abstract The spectromagnetic characterization of the Cu(II) complexes of the anthracyclines (I) shows that the NH 2 group of (Ia) coordinates Cu(II) yielding a mononuclear complex, while (Ib) forms a polymeric complex with both NH 2‐ and OH‐group coordination.
