portuguesO artigo que aqui apresentamos consiste num estudo de levantamento e interpre-tacao urbanistico-arquitetonico realizado na singela localidade de Zebreira (Idanha-a-No-va, Portugal), no ano de 2016. O trabalho foi realizado por uma equipa de estudantes do curso de Arquitetura da Universidade do Porto, na senda daquilo que se veio a revelar um surpreendente caso de estudo. Da investigacao resultou a descoberta de dois projetos para a erecao de uma praca-forte na localidade, durante a primeira metade do seculo XVIII. O que nos levou a ponderar um efetivo inicio das obras, ainda que a praca nunca tenha adquirido um conjunto edificado qualificavel, foram algumas “memorias” revela-das pelo tracado urbano - a nosso ver claramente indicativas de um projeto cordeado in situ. Perante a existencia de tais evidencias, surgiram varias as questoes: em torno dos autores das propostas, dos projetos e das motivacoes de tal ideia – aspetos que serao cuidadosamente explicados neste artigo, a luz da tratadistica portuguesa setecentista de foro militar e a partir da analise dos testemunhos fisicos e historicos EnglishThe article presented here consists of na architectural study carried out in the locality of Zebreira (Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal) in the year 2016. The work was carried out by a team of students of the Architecture course of the University of OPorto, in the path of what has come to reveal a surprising case study. The investigation resulted in the discovery of two projects for the erection of a stronghold in the locality during the first half of the eighteenth century. What led us to consider an effective beginning of the works, although the stronghold never acquired a qualified set, were some “memories” revealed by the urban pattern - in our opinion clearly indicative of a project made for the place. Given the existence of such evidence, several questions arose: around the authors of the proposals, the projects and the motivations of such an idea - aspects that will be carefully explained in this article, in the light of the eighteenth-century Portuguese militar treaties and from the analysis of physical and historical testimonies
