This study aimed to verify the applicability of the green economy concept in the production process of the steel industry. Therefore, qualitative research was conducted exploratory and documentary. The study was carried out at ArcelorMittal Tubarão, located in Espírito Santo, which is a reference in sustainable practices within the Steel Industry segment. As a result, it was verified that the company practices the Circular Economy, whose various actions are in line with the guidelines of the United Nations for the achievement of the Green Economy. However, it was concluded that the application of the Green Economy could not be fully verified, due to the recent concept of the institution.
